Industrial applications of Acetone

- Apr 16, 2018-

Acetone is an important raw material for organic synthesis and is used in the production of epoxy resins, polycarbonates, plexiglass, pharmaceuticals, and pesticides. It is also a good solvent for coatings, adhesives, cylinders, acetylene, etc. Also used as a diluent, cleaning agent, extractant. It is also an important raw material for producing acetic anhydride, diacetone alcohol, chloroform, iodoform, epoxy resin, polyisoprene rubber, methyl methacrylate, and the like. It is used as a solvent in industries such as smokeless powder, celluloid, cellulose acetate, and spray paint. Used as an extractant in industries such as oils and fats.

Used for preparing important organic glass monomers, bisphenol A, diacetone alcohol, hexylene glycol, methyl isobutyl ketone, methyl isobutyl carbinol, phorone, isophorone, chloroform, iodoform, etc. Organic chemical raw materials. It is used as an excellent solvent in coating, spinning of cellulose acetate, acetylene storage in cylinders, and dewaxing in the refining industry.
